Happy Wednesday, guys! I’m getting a little bit of a late start here- I’m going to blame it on the fact that there is crazy flooding here (check out my Instagram story if you want to see!), but really… the post just didn’t get done. But, better late than never!
Ever since we moved in, all Dan wanted in life was a bar area in our house. Of all of the millions of things that need to be done to this house, that is what he wanted (probably because we had just finished the bar in our basement before we moved!). We went back and forth on where it would be and how big it would be, but one day I bought him a bar (cart).
We put it in a corner of the dining room (which we have painted since we moved in, but nothing else), but I wanted more! We have a small kitchen, and like a lot of people registered for 1 million glasses for our wedding- white wine glasses, red wine glasses, iced tea glasses (what?!), martini glasses, champagne flutes… the list goes on and on. Who needs that many glasses?!? No one, but we have them, and now we have to store them!
The bar cart came with wine glass holders and then I IKEA hacked some shelves to hold even more! And on the shelves I can also store some of my serving dishes. Over all I love this corner. It makes me way happier than it should! You can see where it is in relation to the living room in this picture- basically the other side of the wall.
The wood and brass on the bar cart + the marble and brass of the shelves- it doesn’t get much better than that! Friday I will be back with the tutorial for the IKEA hack shelves!
