Welcome back to the home tour : ) The rest of the rooms can be found here.
I feel like a master bedroom should be a retreat- somewhere you really want to go… but a lot of the times it becomes the last room that people finish! Our bedroom wasn’t my favorite place in the world, but it definitely wasn’t my least favorite!
We started with a pretty nice blank canvas– except those purple window treatments- & confession- one of them was still up the day we moved! I hated them and never did anything about them : (
You can see all the before pictures here (and of course the walls were two different colors- the previous owners had a thing for that. Funny story- we tried to paint patch them right before and somehow they got all messed up. We had to repaint the day before closing. I was not happy. Luckily our awesome realtor paid for the cost, but it was still stressful!).
I love how that little area turned out… hopefully our king size bed fits in our new space!
I tried to hang pretty much art in this space- it started with the larger piece which I still love (it is one of the only things I brought with me to my mom’s house). And then we added two more originals that I love love love. Original art just has so much depth! I can’t wait to get them out of storage.
On the other side of the room we put up some puppy pictures and our giant calendar wall that turned into a clipboard wall. Eventually a mirror replaced all of it (you can see the edge of it above)! (There are those darn purple drapes again…)
The hook wall was another one of my very functional favorites! And I made my very first GIF of it!
When we moved in the closet was very shabby chic and not so functional. It definitely evolved over the years! It was never a huge space but it worked pretty well for us. I can’t say that I would pick that color scheme again… but we were using leftover paint. Near the end of our time living there we took the doors off the closet, added another rod & reorganized– so so helpful!
We were going to put them back on to show the house, but the realtor said no need. The new buyers didn’t want them back on anyways, so I’m glad we didn’t waste our time!
I think my style and taste has evolved a lot since we bought this home. I am really excited to start in our new home!
