Welcome to stop one of our home tour! The kitchen space in our house was always everyone’s favorite, so I figured that I would start there! You can see what it looked like when we first moved in here.
In the first post I said that I wanted to:
-Organize the kitchen cabinets
-Get a plate stand for the china
-Update the table & chairs
-Build a pantry
I shared my cabinet organizing trick here & also organized the drawers- the spice drawer was featured in Better Homes & Gardens- probably one of the highlights of my life : ) And we “organized” the counter tops too. Dan rubbed off on me and now I like clear counters!
We actually had 4 stools, they are these from Overstock (we had two blue two gray). They worked great but eventually I wanted ones with a back- I think they would have been more visually striking. Side note: when I saw these pictures I about cried that I didn’t clean off the fridge.
We also added my prized succulents (& I shared a few tips on keeping them alive)! Love these guys so much. Looking at these pictures- oh my goodness they have grown! So excited to have kept them alive so long!
At some point I wanted to instal a microwave drawer, but until then we created a great microwave holder / drink station! You can see it in the corner in the picture below.
I totally forgot until going back to the post that the microwave was on the top shelf for a while! It was just a bit too high for me.
And one of my favorite projects- turning a coat closet into a pantry and a coat closet! This gave us so much more storage for all of our Costco runs & we still kept all the coats!
Overall it was already a beautiful space when we bought the house, but we were happy to make it our own. Hopefully one day I’ll have another kitchen as nice! Double ovens- we will miss you this holiday season!
