So after making one of my most delicious cakes to date (you can find the recipe here) I had to think of a way to decorate it so that it fit the Thanksgiving and Birthday theme. I also made my infamous sugar cookies and was inspired by the fall leaves and colors and decided to make a cake that complemented them. Below are the cookies that inspired my cake.
First of course I torted and filled my cake. I then covered it with a simple white vanilla fondant as seen below.

Once the cake was covered, David and I cut out leaves and acorns using the mini pie cutters I purchased for our Apple Pie.
I then placed the leaves and acorns around the outside and added a Happy Birthday to the center of the cake. It was pretty simple but complemented the cookies well and looked great with the other Thanksgiving desserts.
